Cast boolits!

Sorry I couldn't resist. I've used it as a good general lube for everything from .224" cast at 2400 fps. to .454" at 800 fps. The only bad thing I can say about it is that it's sticky. Maybe that's why it works so well.....

got to agree with 454pb. Lots of high tech lubes come and go and im one of the worse at concockting all kinds of super dupper mixes but good old 5050 is never a bad choise. Only downfall to it in my opinion is it gets a little messy in warm weather but we dont have but about 2 months of that here anyway.

I have switched over to Lar's BAC because it is a little bit firmer and has less smoke, the carnuba wax shine on your barrel never hurts either. I have always been a fan of 50/50 because it seems to work well. I am told you can use it up to 2000 fps. Just my 2 cents.

When this lube was introduced some 40 -50 years ago it worked and rewrote the book on boolit lube for everyone. It upped accuracy, velocity, and versatility of loadings in all calibers. I have used it to date and never had a problem with any leading. Only complaint has been with having filled too many grooves in the 38 special with full wadcutters. It created a lot of smoke, crudded up the gun and for whatever reason was detrimental to accuracy. Problem was solved by cutting back to lubing only one groove. In rifle calibers, particularly 30 cal, I was able to go as high as 2200-2300 fps w/30-06 and 30-30 using hard boolits. No leading, decent to good groups and bores were clean and easy to clean out. As time passed lubes that were more specialized were introduced and of course they have worked well, but for those shooters not having special needs, the old (now) NRA formula has earned its place as a boolitlube with a good reputation.
