I have been thinking about getting a 17 Hornet and would love some feedback from actual owners. I mainly want on for a two hundred yard varmint gun.

There is a nice brand new savage walking varminter at a local shop that I have been thinking about. Is the Hornet a 1 hole 100 yard gun?

Ditto on your interest. I was given a substantial amount of once fired brass, that is my resason for the interest.
Be aware that their is a difference between the 17 hornet and the 17 Hornady hornet.

For a 200 yard varmiter Mike Belm makes a good case for the 22 TCM in a rifle.

Interesting little cartridge. The rifle reminds me a lot of the cz 527. Off researching I go......thanks

I got to shoot a friends Ruger bolt gun in that round. You could watch it hit the squirrel the recoil was so slight. We shot factory ammo, and I think you'd be hard pressed to match it. I'd say look at all the rifles for sale except the Savage. I had one and my friend did too, both .223's. We traded them off pretty quickly.

It does a number on coons. I would look at the cz 527 in 17 hornet
