Latest Cheaper Than Dirt Catalog shows Sellor and Belloit 22 HP loaded ammo, 70 gr at 3445 fps. I assume they mean 2445 fps. Anyone know for sure?

That sounds about right. If you notice they have the energy figure right up there at 1290. That's a fair size case on that round.

Jooe- The old standard load was a 70 gr JSP at 2300. I tried their website but no velocity listed.

Officer Bret,

Once again I provide you with a website. http://catalog.ammodepot.com/itemdetail.php?itemnumber=A56503
Remember, sir, that the 22 Savage Hi Power is the 5.6x52R in Europe and in Europe they tend to load their cartridges higher.

We're both right and wrong on this one. As you see from the provided website the velocity is higher then what you thought, but lower then what Cheaper Than Dirt published.

Hope this clears it up some. By the way reading some reloading sites on it it was stated that it can easily and safely reach 3000 fps.

Thanks Joe- Higher than I thought, but still no 3500 fps with a 70 gr bullet.

BTW- It's Trooper, not Officer. Comes from our mounted tradition. Calling a Trooper "Officer" is like calling a Marine "soldier" or a Sailor a "soldier" or a Minister "Father". It's a proper tittle. And for those who keep having trouble spelling my name it's Bret not Brett. My mother insisted I be named after "Bret Maverick" on the old Maverick tv show in hopes I'd grow up to look like James Garner. She hasn't spoken to me in years due to my looking more like Homer Simpson.

I prefer, " Your Grace" or perhaps "Your Emminence". This goes back a few months when I thought I might get that gig as Pope. Turns out it was some church type job, not as the next Harry Pope. Go figure. I turned them down. I didn't mean to be snotty if it came off that way Joe.
