Is there a chart or reference to how hard tin is?
I’ve got this Cabin Tree tester and I’m testing everything with it under the sun.
I have 15lbs of pewter to melt down (still in the tea set form) and was curious how pure the tin content is.

Something like this is what I’m after if it’s even out there.

Tin
100% Brinell ……… 10
95% Brinell………….9.5
90% Brinell………….9
And so on, if you know what I mean. Since pewter can range from 8X%~ 9X% tin, I wanted to know were I stand in pureness.

Or I could just be over thinking everything again and just want to test stuff that really isn’t needed.

By the way I really love this tester and can’t say enough good things about, such a straight forward way to test lead.

Pure tin is 7....There is another way, verify by weight. Weigh a certain bullet with pure tin...then weigh a bullet made from 50/50,or 60/40, or a type of alloy, it;s not perfect but then neither are BHN testers.....Keep in mine the more controled your experiment is the more accurate it is. I have to do some reference point finding with my Lee tester also.
