Who is the manufacturer of the EMF lever action rifles? I know that Rossi makes the Legacy levers but don't know about the EMF.

What is your experince with them if any?? Good for cast boolits or not???

Rossi. I like mine. Only down side is they have to be drilled and tapped to mount tang or peep sights.

My EMF Hartford rifle, 44 magnum (the model that they were selling just before that dorky little safety) came already tapped for a tang sight. I didn't put one on--opting to have my gunsmith drill and tap it for a Lyman 66. He said that the casehardening on the receiver was very deep. When he had the action apart to smooth it up a bit, he remarked that the mainspring design was a very good one--actually better than ones found on original 92's. These are very good rifles in my opinion--just wish that those little safeties that the lawyers have mandated were all removed and placed as a suppository into every member of the American Bar Association and ACLU.

Thany you each very much for the reply. It sounds as if the rifles are good just like the Pumas from Legacy. I too wish the same about the safties...Wes
