I am thinking of experimenting with this bullet in the .44 Spl/Magnum for loads at 850 & 1,100 FPS muzzle velocity using a shotgun powder and using this gas check bullet without a gas check. I'll shoot in a Ruger Superblackhawk and a Model 29. Has anyone had any experience shooting it? I have shot it w/ a gas check and it is most accurate...I thought I'd try without one just to see what the results are. I would guess there will be little or no difference at the velocities depicted. If I get some minor leading, no big deal.

I have a single cavity of the old plain base version of that. Works just fine in our .44 Mag lever gun over some Unique.

I've been using it in a variety of 44 Specials and 44 Magnums for more than 30 years. It works, but I've never used it without the check. I have plain base molds for that.
