I have the 165 RD mold. I have contemplated buying a 180/200 gr mold for longer distance shooting but would really like it to be for hunting as well. NOE has a few options, but I started wondering if I should go through the change of getting a HP hold... just looking for opinions, my only hunting gun is an 06...

I would not! The RD is perfect as is.

Noe has a heavy RD bullet, and I'm tempted to buy one

This one has three sets of pins so you can have a solid as well as a hollow point.

NOE is now including cup point pins on most RG molds..
They work real well in a hunting situation. Kind of a best of both worlds.
Also gives you the option of FP, cup or deep HP in 1 mold .. plenty of experimenting with the purchase of only 1 mold

I wouldn't bother either.
a cup point maybe on a heavier 180-200gr mold.
but the RD 165 is plenty for poking holes in stuff, and I prefer 2 holes in stuff.

that i do agree on!!! i use the 165gr(173gr dropped) rd in my 30-40 krag that goes 1800fps out of the muzzle. and it does provide a complete pass thru. i've only shot it one time, but that big old doe took it at 93 yards(onside shoulder, both lungs and heart and then it went thru a rib before it went out) and she was drt.

i also used a 275gr rd in my 444 marlin before i switched over to a 280gr wfn gc.
