I am in need of a good handheld spotlight.
I am looking for one in the 1-3 million candle power range.
Any recommendations that won`t break my budget? ......dale

I have a Q beam light that is about 15 years old at least and still going.

Whatever you get, I'd recommend LED. Ive had several and the newer LED seem to cast a much more direct, narrow and intense beam compared to the older incadecent or even the HID handhelds.

TBH, My 1000-1200 Lumen handheld flashlights light up as far as I need to see around my neck of the woods, are lighter and more portable. Depending on how long you are needing light, they may be a viable alternative.

I'm still using a Coleman rechargeable I pick up at a Auto ZONE, for about 30 bucks 10 years ago,I charge it over night then set it on my front porch,to use when needed it last along time between changes it 1.5 million candle light, does a great job too.
Forgot to add their is a member on the site that makes a very nice light I installed one on my track powered wheelchair.

LED is the only way to go. I have a non-LED 15 million candle power the works well but battery life is limited when in use.

The resident light expert is Wiljen.

He has not been active for while but he recently posted this http://castboolits.gunloads.com/showthread.php?308424-A-thanks-and-an-apology

His lights are great and per his post he has lots on his plate but a PM asking for a recommendation should not be out of line.
