Hey all. I just got this six place mold and it casts great. I've had some trouble with the 200 TL SWC feeding in my 1911 so I thought I'd give this one a try.

I've got them sized to 452 (I wish I had a 451 sizer).

Anyway I'm wondering if anyone has found a particularly reliable OAL for this bullet in a 1911. I figure that would at least be a reasonable place to start.

TIA!

I load any type of SWC so just .020 of the bullet shoulder is sticking out of the case. I must admit Ive never checked the OAL. I have my sizer modified to seat off the shoulder of the bullet so I can change SWC bullets without changing my seater depth.

Sorry thought you were talking SWC but noticed the 200 rf.

You may have to experiment but myself I would try seating to just cover the crimp groove.

I remove the barrel and use it for a seating guage, seat the boolit until the rim is flush with the hood of the barrel. and my 1911 is more accurate with .452 boolits. DALE

I agree also; My bullets actually come out .4525 thru my sizer (.453 sizer actually)and shoot great.

Thanks, guys.

I'll take the bbl out and see how max OAL feeds. I'll also keep it at 452 until its clear it should be smaller. The barrel slugs at just a hair over 0.450.
