Is there a cetain way the handles should be attached? I get some boolits that are perfect and some are a little off.
weight ranges from 156 gr. to 162 gr. these are from a 358-158 lee six cavity mold.

watch when you close them together while casting. I have a few that as you close the sprue plate the last thou it presses the blocks back open slightly. if I don't notice it happening and fix it, i get some toss backs.

I put them on so I tap the bolt side with a mallet to get the stubborn ones out. You could tap the nut side just as well. Personal preference I guess.

keep your thumb off the sprue cutter handle.

The best thing you can do for a Lee six-cavity mold is get a sprue plate from Red River Rick. It is worth every penny.

The only way I have found to screw up a Lee 6 banger's drops is:

Dirt/lead flash in and on the pins

You squeezing or holding the spure handle. Keep your hands off it until the lead is hard!

Dirt/lead flash on the mold halve faces

Dings on the edges of the mold halves or on the cavities

I have many Lee 6 bangers and they all drop perfectly acceptable boolits every time....as long as you use it proplerly per above.

thanks everyone. squeezing the handles and not holding the sprew handle took care of it. Took me a long time to ask the right people. THANKS EVERYONE.
