I’ll soon be loading for a 357 Mag that I ordered. As of now I’ve only casted for lower velocities in my 38 Spl and a couple other calibers. I was thinking of water cooling my boolits for a little extra added hardness. I use WW and about 2% tin.
I pan lube my boolits. My question is do you think that the pan lubing process will affect the WCWW? I’ll be heating the boolits back up to around 180 deg during pan lubing and then letting the boolits gradually cool back down.
I may not even need to water cool. I only want to get up to around 1200 fps. I’ll primarily be using a Lee 358 158 RF. What do you folks think?

Heating to 180F won't hurt the hardness. It will speed the age hardening process following quenching so that you'll see maximum hardness within hours instead of a week or two. (See the section on type metals in the Metals Handbook.

All my bullets hit water after the mold. Velocity does not matter.
I have seen no negative effects from this.
I also pan lube, and run my temp to 200*.
