View Full Version : Basie/Bryce Mt. VA places to shoot??

We will be there for a week in June and I would like to find a place north of there to shoot. I would like to introduce my son's father in law to some of my guns.

I don't know for sure if they are open to the general public on a daily basis and have never shot there.

There are a couple other places in the Charles Town area of WV that are open to the public but I would be hesitant to shoot at them.

Why would you be hesitant? They are the only ones I've found other than one in Luray who doesn't answer the phone.

Wayne check the NRA board they usually have a place to shoot.

I went there, found lots of places that are not open to the public, places in WVA you would hesitate to use, I'm assuming especially with a woman along? and one in Luray. I understand that one of the muzzle loading associations has their Nationals near Winchester? Is that a public range or wholly owned by them?

The North-South Skirmish Association range in near Gainesboro, VA of Rt. 522.

It is not open to the public other than for scheduled matches.

Peacemaker is nearby, just across the line in WV. I believe they have a daily range fee for nonmembers, check their web site.

The North South Skirmish Association is located at 480 Chalybeate Springs Rd Winchester, VA 22603 ph:540-888-4334. If you are into black powder and need some Holy Black, check this guy out. He is literally right next to the NSSA property. You do need to call in advance.
