My brother from Tulsa stopped by on his way to Middle Tennessee for golf. He dropped off a mold he had bought at a yard sale. It is a RCBS 44-250-K and included a top punch. Paid $10 for it.

It has never seen molten lead. He knew I cast and figured $10 was little enough. I should go out and buy a lottery ticket too.

I have a 44-240-SWC and a 44-250-SWC. I don't know that this mold will do any better than those and I will have to cast with all three to see how they differ. I don't shoot .44's much since I am partial to .45's but I have to admit that I am proud of this mold.

Could your brother be talked into adopting me?

If any of those molds have a thin sprue plate, call RCBS and they will send you the newer thicker plates.Robert

Since you are partial to .45's...I will give your money back...I am partial to .44's...sounds fair to me.

How thick are the new plates?
