Diagram not making real sense to my thick head tonight. For a PID hookup for a guy and I've never wired one of these particular switches. LOAD means out to me, Line means in to me so wouldn't LINE OUT (#30 require a ground to light the indicator light?

2 would be line (supply line) ; 1 is line out to supply power to load ( load side of switch) ; 3 would be the ground or neutral for the light to have a completed circuit for the light.

Is a lighted rocker switch .

Thank you. I was pretty sure 3 needed the neutral but the longer I thought the less I was sure of anything. Still can't picture the flow as to why the indicator would only be lighted when the switch is ON though. Must be time to get to bed.

Finally dawned on me. That's a wiring diagram not an electrical schematic and it only shows the results of throwing the switch and not the internal path of flow. Brain farts do get worse as one ages I can assure all of that.

The right side of the lamp appears to make contact with post 3 where it would need a neutral connected. It feeds off the no. 2 post, the line in. Light is on when switch is closed, activated, load is on.
