What are your favorite loads for this bullet?

Thanks

4895, 3031 and 748 works well in my Marlin.
I forget the charge weights, but, 1800 fps is the velocity.

I like 16grs 2400, be very careful to avoid double charges.

Tried allot of different powders in my 30-30s. Found out my little Savage 1899 TD likes a healthy charge of AA2230 and the Ranch Dog 165. Where as my 94 carbine like a little bit less of AA2230 and the R/ Dog. The difference between the two charge weights is simply a 1/2 grain.

About 25 grains of IMR4895, worked well in a Savage 340, I haven't used it much in lever guns, though it worked well in a Savage 99 in .308 and another in .300 Savage.

31 grains of Varget in my 336A shoots great.

In my 336, glenfield 30 and win. 94: 6 grains of Red Dot. Works nearly as well with plain based, so that's what I shoot. Great plinking load. Also does well in my Sav. 99 in .300 Sav.

30.5 grains IMR 4064. Old 336 with ballard rifleing shoots 1 inch at 50 yards.

I've been trying Leverevolution but so far I'm not impressed.

Still trying to make that plain base work. May need to study a bit on my powder choices. Seems a shame to put a GC on a plinker boolit.

I have the RD mold with 1 GC and 1 PB, and I figured I better come up with a PB load.

At 50 yards, the plain-based RD shoots very acceptably with Red Dot. But if I go even 0.5 grains over 6.0 gr.--accuracy goes south (but I haven't noticed any leading). I only discovered the sweet spot as I backed down from 10 grains and saw the groups tighting up.

A nice side benefit of the load is that if I ever double charge, it would be within the pressure limits of my rifles.

Thanks, Blixen. I've been seeing a bit of RD on the shelf and will give it a try. My PB mould is ALL PB's so I'm committed to the concept, lol.

Here's a plain base RD group at 100 yards. .311" sized.
i tumble lube in Johnson wax and alox.

Love the big holes the RD makes.

I use several plinking loads with a plain-based 165 grain boolit. Mostly 700X or Herco in the 6-8 grain powder range. Velocities are in the 1200-1350 fps range, no leading.

I love my 165gr RD boolit in my 30/30. I'm using only IMR 3031 at this time and groups are bett r than expected compared to my Lee 170gr.
I can't wait to launch one at a deer this fall. It'd be nice to recover one and compare the expansion to my wet phone book tested projectiles.
Is there a need for Dacron fill with the 30/30? I use it for 30/06 & 308 just wondering if case volume is already taken up with the IMR 3031.
