I do want to thank those who posted on my thread about wanting to get starting in casting. You guys gave me lots of options and good reads for advice. the start up cost wasn't as bad as i thought it would be. I did spring for the Lee 20# bottom pour and a used lyman lubasizer, thanks to johnb on that hook up. My local gun smith cast out of wheel weights so i bought a few ingots form him to get me going. Also Blammer is full of knowledge and as been gracious to teach.

so with out further a-do pix lol

Won't be long and you'll be selling that mold and getting a 6 cavity....Looks great!

I have a 6 cavity in 358 for my 9mm. but it was suggested I start with .45 sense i dont shoot 45 as much I think the 2 cavity will work for now. Casting was actually enjoyable. After about the first dozen cast I was able to get the temp and flow right. Bullets dropped right out of the mold, didnt have to bang it. now time to try different powders with my cast boolits.

Like I always advise, just get out there and "do it", rather than fusssssssssing over reading tons about doing. Hands-on is the ONLY way to learn. And mistakes easily remelt!

Over-reading and over-thinking casting is one of the big mistakes today.

Good job. Load 'em and shoot 'em. And check out powder coating!!!!!!!!!

looks good.

You need to work on adjusting the sizer, you shouldn't have lube comingout the top and the center pin, shouldn't be out that far.

I'll second this. I've never had a center pin come out of the die, usually it is just below the top of the die and I pull the boolit out of the die. Kind of fun with the small ones.

Now you're a Boolit caster , Thinking about it is harder than doing it , and you learn what you need to along the way .

The push rod in the lubrisizer is installed upside-down! That's why its pushing the center post of the sizing die out. Take the sizer apart and flip that rod end-for-end!
