Barns for sure .
I remember there was some other outfit pushing solids but they escape me at the moment. Might search for 458 WM solids . Or tungsten core solids .

Missed the RB part of this on the 1st pass .

May I ask what your end game is?

Ditto. Also they will be very expensive. I can't imagine hunting with them.

i see their are brass and copper ball bearings and the price isnt to bad but i cant find that size. a lot of guys shoot round balls in a 45/70 to hunt small game with. i have a buffalo classic with the barrel cut to 28 inches and i thought i could get more ft. per second and have not problem with the ball stripping out is copper or brass. use it for critters around here that invade my place and prairie dogs close by. no rocks in my country, just dirt and pure sand so bouncing one of these off a rock isnt a problem. im very rural. also in the 50/s i remember reading in study hall by one of the old timers hunting prairedogs with a set up like this. thanks for the interest.

A lead ball with a PC or high-tech coat might be the simplest route. If you really want to shoot a copper or brass ball I might try finding some that are small enough to fit in a 410 wad and try to make a sabot load.

A few years ago I had a Marlin Cowboy with an over sized bore. I paper patched some 250gr 45colt boolits (Lyman 454190s) and shot them with very good accuracy. Never chronograph the load because I really didn't care for punching holes in paper, but I am confident 250grs of lead at almost any speed will kill a prairie dog.

i was thinking about this yesterday and im going to resize some 54 or 50 cal round balls to .459. lube them with lee alox and try those . ive done them before to .451 for a 45 long colt. they retain their round ends and have a small bearing surface.

Someone on another thread mentioned adding zinc to harden round balls.
