Any 35 Remington 200 or 250gr. 5 or 6 moulds left overs or tentitive GB's?
LEE's would work.
TIA,
Duke
If you want this mold for a .35 Rem in a Marlin I would check out Ranch Dogs site...I believe he'll have 6 bangers for sell this summer...Sign up for the mold at his site and he will e-mail you when they get in....IIRC they will be around 190 grs....
Boomer( I meant Blammer sorry Boomer) was talking about starting a GB on the Lyman 358009 which is a heavy boolit...I have been waiting for that buy also to use in my .35 Whelen...That boolit may be to heavy (long) for a Marlin I don't know...In a DC mold the RCBS 200 gr. is hard to beat in the .357, .357Max, and .35 Rem...
To answer your question about the .405 mold GB on your other thread...There hasn't been a GB for a .405 as far as I remember (just light wt. molds for the .41 Mag).....I have one of these .405 1895's in a TD and would have been watching for a GB for it...Still haven't had time to shoot it...

I was looking for more of a traditional grease groove though thanks very much for your response sir.
So a 200 and 250 grain GC 35 cal. would be a good group buy feeler? Not that I have any say so in the matter.

Something to look at
http://castboolits.gunloads.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=3523&d=1175253769
45 2.1 drew up this bullet
It is a streched version of the .360 220 GB I ran
As the .360 220 has proven to be a good shooter in several rifles and the 357 Max Contender and 35 Rem contender
I was going to run the 250 gr version
But at the time there was to much Lee bashing going on
And not enough interest
If there was enough interest , I would run it as a 6 gang Lee mould

WOW! John that looks great! I would as usual be up for two moulds.
Will that profile feed in a Marlin 35 Remington?
How would that design perform?
I would opt for the 250 grain.
What kind of veloities could be achieved with the 250 and stll stay within the "no leading" parameters?
I have no problem with LEE.
How do we start a feeler?

It is the same profile as the .360 220 , that feeds great in a freinds Marlin
How would that design perform?
IMO the 250 gr bullet is probely to heavy to proform well out of the 35 Rem in a lever gun
As the bullet would probely take up to much room
Also my guess , the GC would have to be well below the shoulder
I would opt for the 250 grain.

IMO you probely couldn't get enough velosity
Might not even be able to get it to properly stabilize
I don't currently have a 35 Rem lever gun , the 14" Contender barrel is a whole different beast
But the guys I know that have tham and shoot cast all shoot bullets between 160 and 220 gr
With 180 to 220 gr doing best on deer
I will start a feeler thread
But IMO the 250 gr bullet just isn't a good match for a 35 Rem lever gun

That's good enough for me. 180 to 220 it is then.

Thanks for the heads up Icer. I would opt for a heavier bullet.
looks a good bullet for my martini 35/303 and may be my 9x57. I would be keen for a 6 cavity,
Cheers Euan.

I've been looking for a 220gr or so for the 35Rem in a Marlin with the more traditional grease grooves also

I ran this as a GB a little while back , another one of 45 2.1's drawings
It runs 215 - 220 gr as cast depending on the alloy
I have been told it shoots great in the 35 Rem lever guns
If you care to run it as a GB
Just ask 45 2.1 , as for me , go for it
I would probely buy a extra

Any chance this would run as a NEI GB? I'm interested in another mold for my .358 Win.

Any chance of getting the 250 in iron alloy (or steel, even)? What's the meplat diameter? Is it a 60%'er?
With all the .350 and .358 M77's floating around, can we get the spec's to fit them? Both the .358 and .350 M77's look to have the same barrel dimensions: .350" or a bit less across the lands and .357" or a bit more in the grooves. Isn't that about right, RugerFan?
BTW, There are currently several bargains on GunBroker in .350RM, if you can handle the twist! :-D You should be able to pick one up for under $500. Be patient, there seems to be a new flock coming on board every week and the dealer from MN has sold a bunch of walnut and synthetic models for $429.

P.S. I would prefer one wider lube groove and a crimp groove. Also, the lube groove doesn't need to be as deep as the .360-220-GB. Oh yeah, and a straight GC shank about .345" in diameter... I think everyone should have a lil' tool to flare their gaschecks slightly so they don't have to fuss with placing them on the shank before crimping into place. A straight shank about .344" to .345" in diameter will provide a check to bullet fit that won't come off in flight... at least that's been my experience.
If you want this mold for a .35 Rem in a Marlin I would check out Ranch Dogs site...

What is the status of this mold?
If it is run as a group buy, will it be designed for SAAMI spec .358W and .350RM chambers?
Thanks,
MJ

I've been going through old group buy threads looking to drum up more interest in a 360180 group buy HERE (http://castboolits.gunloads.com/showthread.php?t=53984). This is already going to happen, but wanted to give everyone that might be interested a chance at it. Thanks for looking.
