Hi Guys, I need to ask for your help. I recently started collecting empty cases and loaded cartridges. I'll post a picture of my cartridge display and a list of what I have collected. If you have anything that I don't have and would consider donating one I would appreciate it. I would gladly pay for the case and/or the postage. All I really ask is that the case appear to be serviceable. I don't care if its been reloaded several times or has a loose primer pocket. It it has any history or any cool stories, I would love to hear them. The collection really has no direction, that is, no specific area.

I got this idea from a member over on the 1911 Forum a couple of years ago. After he quit posting I ran this over there. The Guys over there were very generous, but it seems to have run its course. Some of you may have seen it, I use the same name over there.

I may have something of interest for Your collection, a shot shell made by "WANDA" an all plastic case with no brass, and a .45 ACP Steel cased blank cartrige dated around 1945. MadJack, I had the idea for a long while, but not the time. Let me know if you do and what you have. I will gladly contribute. A Guy on the 1911 forum inspired me to make the move. I started with the odd stuff that you aqquire from trades and pick up at the range. It has since expanded to friends, gun shows and finally internet forums. You will be surprised at some of the rare cases that you find.

Are you more concerned with just the case or the headstamp? I don't see a 307 Winc on your list? And how would I ship a loaded round to you? I'll have to look but I believe I have a couple 33 Winc somewhere.

Trapper, I have some loaded rounds that I have gotten locally but its too expensive to ship a loaded round. You would have to use someone like FedX or UPS and pay a fee. I am mostly interested in the empty case. A few guys have loaded dummy rounds for me but I'm happy with the empty case. I don't care so much what brand the head stamp it is. I have a few that have been renamed like the 6mm/244 Remington that I have both. I would love to have both the 307 Win and 33 Win as I don't have either one. I'll send you a PM with an address. I didn't see listed 25-20, 30-40 Krag or 7x61 Sharpe & Hart (AKA Super 7x61). I can also send reformed brass that I use in my .30x61 Sharpe & Hart conversion built on a 1903 Springfield. Lastly, I'll send an unknown empty of possibly British military origin that you can tell us about in the future.

lightman, I see you have migrated over from another site to try and ad to your collection and I am happy to see my handle there is on your list! Glad I could help out. Your collection and the case you made is looking good. Smart move to try different sites with different types of reloaders/casters. What one group is interested in another is not and vice versa.

I'm going to print out your list and when I go to the gunshow next month I'll look around and see what I can come up with. Who knows?

Hey, you don't have a 9x21 listed. Oddly enough a girl at work just bought a Sig Sauer 9mm and couldn't get it to work for some reason. Turns out she has a 2022 9x21 and I was able to set her straight. Why the gunshop told her she needed to buy it is a mystery. Maybe everyone else saw the caliber and steered clear due to ammo availability. If you want one of those let me know and I'll see if I can get one for you.

I've been looking for a suitable box to send stuff to you and encountered some 1942 and other headstamp 30-06. I'll put in some of those, but first I have to pull them and deal with the primers.

I got these from one of my American Legion co-members because I have been making up blanks for our ceremonies, and we're running low on supplies. Seems a waste, they might be worth more as is, but they are sort of grungy, certainly wouldn't shoot them the way they are.

There are a lot of gaps in my collection and those have eluded me so far. I've been eyeing a few of those African rounds in a local gun shop but they are asking $95 to $125 for a box of 10. They have 4 or 5 different calibers, mostly Kynoch. I probably would buy one but just can't bring myself to buy 10.

I have had a couple of more packages arrive this week. The first was from FredBuddy. It had a 25-20 Winchester, 30-40 Krag, a Super 7 X 61 (7 X 61 Sharp & Hart), 2 magnum cases formed into the Super 30 X 61, 3 different 30-06 military cases from the 1940's and a 50 caliber case with a military headstamp that I had to research before I could name it. It is a 50 caliber spotter round used in conjunction with the 106mm recoilless rifle, for anti-tank use. A very interesting cartridge!

The other package was from HardCast416Taylor and contained a USAC plastic 38 spl case with the 158 grain bullet, a 45-70 balloon head case, a Wildcat 416 Russian Express formed from a 7.62 X 54R case, a 400 Nitro Express made by Kynoch with a 400 grain bullet, a 470 Nitro Express with the solid bullet, also Kynoch, the 416 Taylor Wildcat loaded on a 458 Winchester case, and a 30-06 "Try-Function case used for dealer demonstrations. The Kynoch cases have a very interesting priming system.

I recieved a package this week from tommag. He sent dummy cartridges in 17 Remington Fireball, 6.5 TCU, 6.5 Gren, 357 Max, 450 Alaskan and a 356 Win case.

My younger Brother is visiting from out of State and brought me loaded 38-40 with REM-UMC headstamp with letters on the primer, a 30 Remington with REM-UMC headstamp and a 6.5 Jap.

The 348 case is actually a 450 alaskan, formed from the 348 case. The 223 based case is a 6.5 tcu.

Well I can add a .224 GNR which is a 357Maximum necked down to.224 and a 375 GNR#2 which is a 45-70 reformed to 375. I also have a old 410 all steel case,I found in Germany back years ago

Well Guys, a busy Summer distracted me from collecting. Between planting a field of Sunflowers for Dove Season and then mowing and burning them, mowing the pond levees at the Duck Club and a few Deer Camp workdays this retiree has been busy. Anyway, I received a very generous care package from Maxreloader.

I have one huge cartridge 45-90 maybe??? Head stamp says 4 F 91.

I have a Rimfire that looks like a 22 on serious steroids. Headstamp marking as "U" but must be like a 31 caliber???

I have a 32-40 and 35 Rem which I think you may now have.

Also a rimless perhaps 44 or 45 caliber with a head stamp that says T W 5 4 or 45??


A 38-56 which I think you may now have


A 22-3000

30 Remington with a plastic or wooden head

a plastic 9mm round.

They are your if you wish...just let me know.

The only thing I have that you don't list is a wildcat. I call it a 34-57. It's basicly a 338-06 shortened to the same length as a 7x57. I use 35 Whelen as the parent case.

I have some very old cartridges which I could give you if you ever come to California. I live just north of interstate 10. I have some 45-70 rounds marked F 4-92. That's 1892. I also have some 41 caliber rim fire cartridges for the little two shot Remington Derringers. I have too many to list. I received another care package, this one from HWilliam01. A 32 Remington and a 32-40 which will be duplicates. A 40-60 Marlin, a 22-3000 with a G&H head stamp, 30-40 Krag with a wooden bullet, a 38-56, a 32 Rimfire Long, and a 44 AutoMag made from a TW 54 military case. The case with the flattened case mouth is a military 30-06 case loaded at a Pakistani arsenal.

I have upgraded the list in my original post and to the best of my knowledge it is now current. I have also added a few odd bullets to the display. A 69 caliber mini ball that I found as a kid near Shiloh Tennessee, a core from an armor piercing bullet that my Dad dug out of a tree in Korea and a text book example of a mushroomed 22 rimfire bullet that I recovered from, of all things, a Bullfrog! I also had a couple of Sierra bullets recovered from Deer that I have shot. Thanks again to everyone that has been generous enough to donate. I hope I have reconized everyone.

Lightman do you have a "bumble bee" yet? I have a few laying around that were acquired from the estate of a well-known wildcatter... it is a 218 Bee necked-down to accept a 17 cal projectile. Most that you see have issues in the neck area... these are super clean. One of them has your name on it in the next shipment unless you already have one.

I've been busy lately with deer season coming to an end, the New Years holidays and Duck Season in full swing. I got 3 different care packages last week with contributations to my collection.

The first was a trade with Gandog56, a member on the Ammo Brass Traders Forum. He sent a 303 British case with a Greek head stamp, a 6.5 Creedmore, an 8X56Rs with a bullet, an 8X56RS with a bullet and a really cool Nazi head stamp, a 32 H&R Mag, a 7.65(32 auto European) and a 32 NAA case.

One was a 43 Egyptian or a 11.43 X 50, 577 X 450 Martini-Henty, 7.5 X 54 MAS, 8mm Mauser, 7.65 Argentine Mauser, 6.5 X 52 Carcano, 7.35 Carcano, 7.5 X 53 Swiss Rubin, 2 different 7.62 X 54R Russians, one with a yellow tip bullet and 2 different 7.62 X 51 cartridges with foreign head stamps.

Hi Guys, I need to ask for your help. I recently started collecting empty cases and loaded cartridges. I'll post a picture of my cartridge display and a list of what I have collected. If you have anything that I don't have and would consider donating one I would appreciate it. I would gladly pay for the case and/or the postage. All I really ask is that the case appear to be serviceable. I don't care if its been reloaded several times or has a loose primer pocket. It it has any history or any cool stories, I would love to hear them. The collection really has no direction, that is, no specific area.

Great collection and shelf! I have yet to come up with a good way to mount cartridges so that they can be shuffled around but yet don't all fall over/off when the display is bumped. I've been using letter press trays and they seem to work OK but sort of limit where you can place each cartridge.
