I have a six cavity Lee tumble lube mold for 38 special semi wadcutter style bullet. The problem I am having is that the same two cavities will not fill completely. I always end up with a bullet without a flat base. I have cleaned the mold twice and still have the same problem. I have many Lee molds and this is the only one I have had this problem with. Any ideas?

heat, get it a little hotter, especially a 6 cav. Be sure you have a generous, good size sprue also. Tin or pewter in your mix may help a little also.

Probably not venting well on those 2 cavities. Might need to scribe the vent lines or "break" the top edge of the mold slightly.

Venting could definitely be a problem. Make sure the sprue plate isn't too tight.

Make sure the mold is up to temp.

I'd also break it down and clean it real good with dishsoap and a toothbrush one more time.

* Increase pot temperature
* Double scoop ladle for 6x molds
And fix the sprue plate because you are galling the blocks!

I cleaned it again and scribed some vents. Problem solved! Thanks!

Open up the fill hole slightly.

I had a similar problem with a .45 230 grain mold, and used the next drill size up from the existing hole. It has been fine since.
