I went to an auction in St. Joe today to look at couple Krags and a Columbian mauser in 30-06. They ha a couple of uncataloged guns also. I saw a couple of Moisins and amoungst them was a sweet little Finn with a 1934 rework marking. I ended up buying it for $175.00 I got it home and looked it over to see if I could find any of it's dark secrets and I have not found any yet. The bore looks mint, I sluged it and it's .308 so I don't need "fat 30's" the trigger is two stage perfect. All the numbers match.

Do any of you finnish owners know if I should look at anything else? I'd like to post a picture if anybody can help me do that. The price seemed right to me, is it in the ballpark?

They are higher than that around here.

I've owned a couple of Finn 39's. they are real shooters.

Congratulations and good luck with it. I'm no expert so I just suggest you to shoot it first :)...

I got out to the range today and tried to take a picture, I'll try putting it up.

From what I read it's a model 27. If this picture goes up OK I will try some closeups of the markings. With some "Aladin" 200 grain spire points stright air cooled WW and 2400 I got 2" 10 shot group at 50 yards, with the "Soupcan" and 2400 I I got 2.5" at 50 yards. The trigger is really nice.

Thanks, I went there, that's where I found out it's a model 27 according to the markings.
