Hi, Guys.
Just a quick question.
I just got a new Marlin 1895 Cowboy and want to put a tang sight on it.
Would you guys use Lyman or Marbles?
I have a Lyman on my 94 Winchester but I'd like the windage adjustment of the Marbles.
Thanks in advance for your input.

I've got a lyman for a 1894 marlin and I don't like it. It won't line up windage wise. I'm thinking about the Marbles.

The Marbles sights has a detent ball - you can count "clicks" for repeatable adjustments.
The Lyma sight has a lines etched into the shaft that are hard to read.
My vote is for the Marbles.

I have a bunch of the Lyman tang sights and they are alright !

Also have a couple of the Marble's tang sights and they are okay also !

But you need to put this into perspective . The Lyman has no windage adjustment and costs about $60-65 now I think , where as the Marble's has windage adjustment and coats about $100-125 .

I've had a Lyman tang on my 1895CB ever since I bought it new in 2001 . Also have them on many of my other CB style Marlin's .

For my silhouette competition rifles I am using Williams Fool Proof reciever sights with target knobs and a Lyman front globe sight with a post inside .

Also have some Lyman peeps on some of my 1950's vintage rifles as well as an old Redfield peep !

I use them all you might say ! And as I have heard before "you get what you pay for" :!:

i recently bought a henry levergun and was wondering the same thing.
at my clubs range i got the opportunity to use both the marbles and the lyman.
i went with the marbles.
i didnt like the idea of having to shim the lymans base to adjust for windage.
