Find myself in possession of a Mannlicher Carcano 6.5 rifle.

Looking for a 268-269 caliber boolit mold for it and can't find one.

Any suggestions?

Tom will make any bullet design in whatever diameter you want except for round noses.

164818I use a Lee 6.5 Swede mould from Mid-south Shooters Supply cut down to throw 150gn bullets, it casts at .270.

I have found the original 170gn bullet does not perform well in a Carcano and I had the mould cut down to remove the lower driving band to produce 150gn bullets.

They fly straight and I have managed a 3" group at 100m.

would it be possible to use a 277 caliber and swage it down?

I depends on what your goal is?
The more a boolit is sized down, the more potential for it to get deformed and become less concentric...and less accurate. If you just want to get out and shoot the rifle and your not looking for cloverleaf targets,it'll work just fine. I believe my RCBS cast bullet reloading manual claimed, that for every .001" a cast bullet is sized down, that you can expect about adding 1 MOA to your group. So size 'em .008 and you might be seeing 8 MOA groups. Now take that with a grain of salt, because it will mostly be dependent on the alignment your sizing equipment...as well as your technique. Oh, you may need to size 'em down in a couple of steps with different dies.
