This poll is to give some idea of when folks might be wanting to show up for a meet & greet near the Mason Michigan Gun and Knife show. Be nice to meet some of the local casters and take in a gun show. Vote if you want to meet & post so we will all know who might be there.

Darb's Tavern has been suggested as a place for lunch. Being close to the show and pretty straight shot to get back to freeway.
Location map, menu and such http://www.darbstavern.com/index.php

Show times are, Friday 2pm to 7pm,
Saturday 9am to 5pm, Sunday 10am to 3pm.

I think maybe more people will want to go Saturday and Saturday offers the flexibility to grab a bite followed by the show for folks that have errands in the morning or a longer drive to come to Mason, while allowing folks that want to hit the show early, grab lunch and head home a chance to cross paths with them.

Sunday show hours are tight around lunch and shorter hours overall, folks may have church to schedule around so I'm guessing it will be less workable.

The show and directions.

Roger we've talked about this on and off for a year or better, we've met once, no gunshow no food, I'm in for whatever the Polls decides

So what time in the afternoon? Wondering how late any "morning" folks would need to be hanging out at restaurant to be there when you can arrive.

I think if we time lunch right, both the morning and afternoon groups will be able to sit down and say howdy for a bit.
Those going to show in afternoon can stop by Darb's on the way to the show. People doing show in the morning can stop at Darb's after they have gone to the show.

Just a matter of picking a time for the resturant when both the morning and afternoon groups can overlap.

Me I can go to show either morning or afternoon on Sat. afternoon is probably easier.

With nice weather I think both are possibilities. Gun show is just an excuse :-)

Most Excellent!

Look forward to seeing that post with a date - link to club web site or directions would be helpful.
Did you use the argument that the berm mining would be most excellent after this group pounds some rounds downrange?

I assume this is for the April 1st show in mason? If so I'd probably be in. Be nice to meet some other casters. Any time around lunch would work for me either Saturday or Sunday.

How does 12:30 on Saturday at Darb's work?

Does this not work for anyone? If not what would work for anyone having a problem with 12:30.

I'd like to show up, depending upon how I'm feeling. I have a hard time making plans. Some days I'm good some days I'm bad. I've been wanting to hit the Mason show for awhile. Plus it is my Birthday, that weekend.
I'd like to meet some like minded people.

They got, that's where the incident started. I didn't say anything about them still having available....

Nice! Looks like there will be around 6 or 7 of us, since chuckbuster will be staying home to fondle and admire his new toy :-) Does sort of make a trip to the big "toy store" sort of a waste after that.

I'll be there at Darb's around 12:15 or so, I drive a jacked up gray Chevy and I'll wear a green tee shirt with yoda on it for identification purposes.

So when is the next meeting of the Michigan boolit club?

Great meeting everyone and hearing all the stories and info. Sorry I got "lost" at the show. Had to sit and talk with a friend.

What a good time, thank you gentlemen, and I do use the term losely. Good eats, a nice and nice looking waitress, good conversation decent gun show!!!! I spent my money cause no one was around at the moment to give me strength and lead me away from temptation. Next we should shoot, we've already heard each other's best lies and did anyone sleep notice the coated lead boolits for sale at at least 2 tables at the show?

nagantguy
04-02-2016, 05:33 PM
Oh yeah and the yoda shirt did help at least one member find our table!, wife and daughter both thought the idea was a little silly.

04-02-2016, 05:35 PM
Sorry I'm over stimulated, Roger thank you for the raffle and putting this together! And did any one else notice how many 401 winchester autos there were at the show, don't see to many but saw like 4 today

nagantguy
04-02-2016, 05:36 PM

I decided to join the modern age and bought an electric (you heard me it works off of electricity!) melter for my ladle casting. Won't be needing that 20# propane tank except when smelting.

Already penciled in May 21 for a shooting day that Clint is arranging. It really says something good that folks were willing to drive as far as some did just to have lunch with the people they met here. I enjoyed it a lot. Yoda shirt was pretty good idea, but then I work in IT so Yoda is way cool.

I certainly hope we didn't tell our very best lies (yet) because frankly I expected better from you Steve. I was sort of figuring you would feed me BS like I was a drunk blonde at closing time. I know you can do better. Maybe next time.

Electric, why next you'll be shooting them fancy smokeless rounds and using that there telegraph

I think we all should wear Yoda t-shirts at the shoot. So they can identify US, from the crazier people.

nagantguy
04-03-2016, 10:13 PM
Agreed, my daughter bought the shirt for me, with the wife as a little stocking stuffer gift, now I get teased when I wear it, so I wear it a lot!

Speaking of Yoda, this arrived today.

I actually won the raffle! Thanks for putting that together Roger. Bought a set of original grips for an old S&W K frame 32-20 that had some Pachmayr's on it when I bought it. Also a pound of Lil' Gun for my son's .450 Bushmaster. I'll most likely be up at my place in Vanderbilt on May 21 chasing morels so will miss the shoot. Keep me in the loop though.

Thanks guys for getting together, trying to include as many of us as possible! And dondiego you did indeed win the raffle! I won second place and was thrilled because I never ever win anything . I've been pming with another new MI member from up buy Flint he could not attend our tall tales gathering but is interested in the next one floated the idea of the birchrun gunshow this fall, it's a drive for most but it's a bigger show and lots of good places to eat.....
