The only .22 cast bullet I have played with was the RCBS and it would not allow me to seat the bullet base flush with the neck. The nose of the bullet would jam itself into the rifling of my M70 Winchester.

What I need is a .22 cast bullet that will alow me to seat the bullet within the very, very, short neck of the .223 cartridge. I do not want to seat the bullet down into the power cavity of the cartridge.

Now we must realize that older barrels with worn throats will accommodate a wide variety of .22 cast bullets without jamming the bullet into the rifling but newer rifles with new barrels and short throats like the one I have are not so forgiving.

Any suggestions?

225646 55gr. GC. For a good ref go to classic's and stickies Lyman Mold Chart by Buffalo bullet Co. You can copy it and keep it next to computer.

Yep. But learn to get passed that phobia about seating below the neck and it will open new possibilities to you.

If it bothers you, you can always add a tuft of filler to keep the lube and powder separate.
