What gets me is that powder was about 19.99/lb. and then all of a sudden it seemed to shoot up to 24.99/lb. - at least at the two places I usually get it. The last time I bought powder, which was this last fall . . I asked how much a pound of Red Dot was - answer was $24.99/lb. O.K. . . . how much is the 8 pound jug? That will be $149.99.

Hmmmm . . . 1 lb. is 24.99 but if I buy an 8lb. jug, the price per pound drops to $18.75/lb.?

Must be those 1 lb. plastic containers have really shot up in price? Of course I bought the 8 lb. jug of R.D. When my 1 LB. containers of R.D. get empty, I'll just transfer from the 8 lb. jug to the 1 lb. container . . . . that way the powder will be worth more when I'm using it . . . LOL

Good job! Holes in my powder inventory have been filed through good luck and vigilance over the past several months and I even pick up a few extra pounds now and then.
I'm not real happy about what appears to be the new normal price but it is what it is. Cabelas is one retailer that didn't take advantage of the shortage situation awhile back. I could get a better price if I shopped around but probably not worth the trouble now, I'm pretty well set.

The last of my 231 went into revolver cases last summer and I haven't seen any since. I even have a friend who owns a guns store and he can't find any to stock either.

I haven't seen 231 in 2yrs. I had not seen Bullseye in the same amount of time, until this past Thursday. I got 1lb of Bullseye, 1lb of HS-6 and 1lb of Power Pistol (not seen in 3yrs)...they were at the $30 price...but bought them anyway.
