I met Shawn L. through the Prison Aftercare Ministry I belong to. We are mentors, and they are "mentees". Shawn is living in his car right now, and is struggling with many issues. Please pray that God will give him wisdom to seek the help that he needs. Thanks.

Prayers up. I've seen a lot of people deal with bad realities in life, almost always due to the decisions they'd made previously, but for some, "bottoming out" was what it finally took to get them to finally admit what a mess they'd made with their previous decisions and morals and ethics, and they finally got straightened out and on the straight and narrow. It's a wondrous thing to see when it happens. Not every case does that, of course, and some just keep doubling down on what they've proven doesn't work, and there's nothing you can do if that's the option they choose. But you never really know which ones it is who'll respond in a good and appropriate way, and as often as not, it's the last person you'd have guessed it would be. I guess that kind'a shows us how inaccurate what we THINK we "know" really is? Just keep at it as casually as you can. It's got to be HIS decision, and not your wishes for him that does it, so be prepared to accept his decision, which ever way it goes. It's all you CAN do, really. The rest is between him and God. That's just how our free will works, and pretty well HAS to.
