Can anyone offer any advice for this caliber concerning cast boolits for this caliber? I recently built a new rifle in this caliber and am looking for something good for plinking. Would be happy if it shot 2 inches at 50 yards.

I shoot 350-550 grainers with either Trail Boss or SR4759... email me, I can send you a scan of the article from Guns, with data, from round ball to 535 postels, including BP loads. These are used in a Ruger number 1.

What type/style boolits are you casting?
Email sent, thank you

Look no further than the RCBS 500gr RNFPGC. It casts about 525grs out of WW.

By far the most accurate bullet I've tried in my .458WM.

Accurate up to 1900fps (and I've not tried it any faster than that).

Would Lyman #2 work in place of wheelweights?
What type and amount of powder are you using?

I shot the Lee 500 grain spitzer from my Lott, cast with wheelweights. Decent accuracy (2-3" at 100 yards) with about 65 grains of H4895. I ended up selling my Lott (ruger #1) because I ran out of elephants to hunt here in Colorado.
