You could do a mountain of boolits in a hurry. I do it 12-13 a minute by hand. You could double that with this device.

Now I know I posted in this thread as the second post. Saying good job and nice. But my post is gone.

There are two threads. The other one is in the Reloading Equipment forum.

I have to have that setup. Maybe even put a motor on it.

I thought about that too!

161434"That's slick! Really slick! BUT if you put a rubber band around that red plastic boolit catcher you won't get going real fast / having a good time and push the top off and spill them all over the floor!

The voice of experience!…OS OK"

Can you post the parts you bought to do this? I'd like to be a 'copy-cat' on this one!

Awesome thread. I might have to buy the stuff to set this up for me coated bullets.

OS OK, I had to buy some 3/32 rod to extend the linkage. The rest I had laying around. I drilled and tapped the bottom pin on the press to accept an 8/32 screw. The other piece I had laying around. Not even for sure what it was for.

…Csink2...How much verticle travel of that rod does it take to actuate the boolit feeder properly?
Does it connect to the feeder in such a way that overtravel of the rod does not mess up the linkage?

Thanks for your time pard…OS OK

OS OK, it is using a slip collet that comes with the bullet feeder. It doesn't take the full stroke of the press to actuate the feeder so therefore once the feeder is actuated the collet slips on the linkage rod the remainder of the stroke. It works on friction.

That is slick but I could not use it. I have a habit of lubing my boolits by hand and using the Lee to remove excess, soon the die bottom is full and a big donut of lube will slip down on the punch.
I make a mess! Then my boolits are flat nose and stay on top of each other to push the top off so I have to shake it often or just leave the top off and take each to drop in the bottom by hand.
My lubed boolits would soon muck the feeder up.

Bare boolits with no lube is my guess.

Here you go! But don't ask for details on the build....LOTS of videos on YouTube.https://vimeo.com/156359220

Not sure what you mean?
Rubber band around the Lee bullet sizing catch cup. To keep it from popping off as it get more bullets in it.

is that a homemade bullet feeder?

No it's a Lee. Mounted on a single stage press sizing bullets.

FYI -- a copper coated mild steel rod is not a "brazing" rod, it is for oxy-fuel *welding*. For brazing, you use a lower melting point filler, often brass or bronze.

Lol I know that! I got twisted trying to explain where I found the rod. It was in the section with the brazing rods at the hardware store.

I'll second that. I kept this thread saved for a future build and totally forgot about it.
Anyone know of another video for this type of set up?

Build looks pretty straight forward;
Bullet collater (DIYs on you-tube)
Lee Bullet Feed Kit
small Lee press
Lee sizing die kit.
You'd need a longer sizer punch

The only thing I'd like to see is how the action rod (actuates the bullet feeder) is attached to the press

I asked him about that. He said he drilled a hole in the longer punch and then stick a metal rod (drill bit in his case) through the hole and hooked it around the plate of the bullet feeder.

Why not apply your talents to a Star setup where you can size and lube in one motion??

dansmach

Because I already have a Lee single stage doing nothing and I want to size coated bullets.
