Well, I made it to 50. I know that's not old by the standards of many here, but it seems significant to me. When I turned 40, odds seemed good I'd hit 80 (still do) so it didn't really phase me. Not too confident I'll make it to 100, so I guess its dawned on me its likely at least half over.

I'm on vacation, so I think I'll hit the range. Bought myself a Remington 572 .22 pump for a present. I know its nothing fancy, its more of a nostalgia thing. I love Remington pumps, I have 5 870s (all 5 gauges) and a 760 in .30-06, so it just seems I needed one of these.

Plus, I'm so old and feeble I can't handle too much recoil anymore[smilie=l:

Happy Birthday. I'll be 56 this month. I hate to tell you this but at about 54 the body starts to tell you something. Coogs.

Happy Birthday!! I'll reach my 50th(anniversary) later this year. Doubt that we will celebrate the same way as our 25th. Don't read anything into that. I was almost 50 years old that year.

Half a century. Wow that's getting old.
Another two and a half years and I'll hit the three quarter century mark.

Life is like a roll of toilet paper. The closer you get to the end, the faster it goes.

My regret was tossing all the toys and comics I had as a kid. I could be a millionaire today.

+1 I thought that was just an old saying until 3 years passed after I turned 70 and before I could figure out what happened, I was 73.

I regret passing up some of those milsurps that were so cheap back in the 50's & 60's. O yeah! I didn't have any money.

Happy birthday! I'll be 56 at the end of the month, but it'll only be my 14th birthday. My students used to get a kick out of being older than me.

Coogs is right...around 54 is a definite change in the body. Everything gets more difficult, so keep exercising.

Happy Birthday! 50 isn't bad at all . . . that birthday is about the time you start doing some thinking about what is really important in life and then doing something about it! I remember when I turned 50 . . . I think? :-)

Glad you bought yourself a present . . now enjoy it and start living each day to the fullest and stop and smell the roses along the way . . . .

Thanks for all the well wishes. Funy you mentioned to keep exercising. I made a major life change about 4 years ago. I was a fat kid, a fat teenager, and a fat man all my life. In 2012 I weighed 326, and I'm just six feet even. Don't know why the light finally went on, but I dropped 115 lbs. Did it slow and right, no fancy diets or fads, just ate less, ate better, and exercised. You know, the old fashioned way. Took about a year, but I have kept it off for 3 years now. I still exercise every day. I like to think maybe I hedged things a bit more in my favor for some healthier golden years!

No body thinks about toilet paper till thy can see the cardboard tube, till then thy are in two ply heaven.

Happy B-Day, I will be 59 in July.

You will never be this young again so go out and do some thing stupid while you can still blame it on your youth!

And at 50 you still have 18 yr's to plan for retirement! [smilie=p:
