I'm working up a surplus buy, but unfortunately these dealers don't carry them all. Seems like one has one I want, but then doesn't have some others.
I shoot All cast boolits:
.223, .270
30-30, 30-06, 300 WinMag
38/.357/35 Rem
45 colt, 454 Casull, 45-70
Out of these powders is there some overlaps, or would one of each be good for my needs?
WC 820
WC 844
WC 846
WC 680
WC 860
WC 872
IMR 5051
IMR 7383
Just learnin' bout these powders, so maybe this might help some others too.

last winter i went thru my manuals with cast bullets to find the most compatible powders for the calibres i shoot. (24) i used a lee powder chart that that comes with thier auto-disk measure--it has a good list of powders down the left side i then listed the calibers accross the top and made up a quick refrence guide. the powders you list arnt in the manuals but they normaly tell you what powder data to use. i also made up one for the powders you list but cant seem to locate it . at any rate if you think this might help you l can e-mail you a copy.

Pat,
Its a tough decision. I bought 3 types, a friend bought the 4th one so we saved on the hazmat. I looked up 4895 and it goes in almost all rifles. So I got 8 lbs of that. WC 820 is a no brainer, and I tried 860. I have not used these yet, they just came in last week. I will prolly be loading some tonight. I need to empty out some cases so I can fill em up again.
One problem is I found excellent loads for some of my rifles with canister powders, and now I have to start over again. I will post results of the powders including velocity and accuracy.
MY only screw up was no pistol powder like unique or something. I use Red Dot for plinkers in my rifles and unique in my 45 colt. WC 820 won't cut it in that gun, or the 45 auto.
Good luck deciding. I will probably order more in the spring.

I recently picked up some some of the WC 820 Fast (HS-7) and some of the #105 from Bartlett.
Have not tried any of the #105 as I am still using up the last of the AA#5
look-a-like powder that I have. Mild 38 Spl loadsto pretty decent moving on along load with 200 XTP.
Don't forget some of the SR4759 for the rifle selection if there is any left come spring.
