Here's a couple I use.
One has had a few Bubba repairs, but work great

If you don't have the original wrench with square end, to tighten the pressure screw...I fab'd some "adaptors" that fit a 1/4" drive ratchet...as shown.

My sizer came with the wrench and C-clamp.

Another thing, the mounting clamps are difficult to come by, if you didn't get one with yours....Here is how I mounted them, using a scrap piece of 14ga steel sheet metal.

What is the value of one with all the working parts, wrench and handle.

I have seen them (excellent-to-new shape) go for about a hundred, but I have a couple that look and work great with all parts and they were only $55 and $40 respectively, shipped.

Yep, I concur with Beagle333 on pricing

There doesn't seem to be a very large market demand for this device, and truth to tell, it is a little bit spindly compared to the later units, but I use mine with perfect satisfaction. I was fortunate enough to find it with the clamp and lucked into the wrench in an offer on fleaBay. The seller, who sells a lot of Lyman and Ideal stuff told me he almost didn't offer it and was surprised when I bought it! Anyway, I'm glad to have mine but probably wouldn't go out of my way to buy another unless it was complete and very cheap. The 45, 450, and 4500 are much stronger and more desirable to actually use.

For my larger bullets I have a Lyman No45. That I have been using for years. I got the No1 because the guy sold it to me for the shipping.

I just got a Ideal No. 1. It has a very bright tube, like it's chrome plated, is that original?

Does it use the same Lyman sizers as the 45 and 450?

Yes, it uses the same dies. The groove at the top of the size die is for the set screw in the No. 1 and the 45. The newer ones don't use that.

I don't know about the chrome. All of mine were used, so I have never seen one NIB (but I'd like to!)

I think they were made with plain brass reservoir tube as well as nickel plated brass.
Yep, all Lyman sizer dies work in them.

Okay, then it's probably nickel plated. It is pretty new and in the original box with the original instruction sheet.

Do you have a way to scan or photocopy the instructions? I'd love to have a hard copy (or be able to print one) of the original instruction sheet. I'd be happy to reimburse expenses.

e-Mail sent... I didn't know there even were versions of those instructions. For the benefit of those following this thread, how about a quick tutorial of the variants of the #1, or is it just the instructions that were printed in different forms? Please and thank you!

Well, the wrench I got off flea-Bay had been serving me well, but the wood had dried out and shrunken so much it became very loose on the metal shank of the wrench and even the brass ferrule became loose. Undaunted, I mixed up some heavy duty, slow setting 2-part epoxy as thick as I could get it, put a dab on the ferrule then piled it into the hole in the handle... I must have run it about a third full since there was so much slack in the hole. I pushed everything together in its proper relationship then clamped it lightly in my bench vise and let it set up overnight. Voila! A glass bedded fit that reinforces the old wood and should never come loose. My Ideal #1 Lube Press should be good for another century. I love it when a plan comes together. :D

Some # 1s had an aluminum reservoir. I sold one such last year with all the parts for a hundred bucks. The dies for the # 1 and the 45 are the same. The dies for the 450 are different. I can prove it with pictures but I just don't feel like going out to the shop, getting the dies, taking the pictures and posting them. I will tell you this. I once forced one of the newer dies into a 45 and had to take it apart and drive the die out with a punch. I was lucky I didn't crack the frame. The lower half the older dies were smaller in diameter than the dies for the 450 & 4500.
