I got my hands on a Ruger #1 awhile back and I'm trying to decided if this mould would possibly work. Anyone have any experience with this mould for the 450/400 Nitro Express cartridge?

Having recently acquired the same rifle, I would be interested to hear opinions/experiences on this as well. Looks like the mold specs out at .409 to .410, which could be slightly small for the 450/400 NE if that is what it casts at. I do notice that Montana Bullet Works sells these at $25/100, so would at least offer a low-cost way to try them out. If you get a member here to send you a few, you could always throw a big favor my way with a few as well :)

I'd be interested as well, I ran across one the other day while looking at a #1 in 9.3x62mm.

I ran a bunch of these on the master caster last weekend, this is a tapered profile. The base measures out at .413, mid driving band at .409. Ruger bore is .408 with groove dia at .410. I'm pretty sure this will slug up to fill bore and should be a very workable boolit if issues I will beagle the mould til I get a .414. Will let you know what I discover. I'm also going to work on another Lyman mold I have the 412263, it is for the 405 Winchester. These are casting out at .413. I'm going to send off a sizer to someone, not sure yet who it will be to be opened up to .412 or .413, then I will have a sizer I can use on both boolits for this caliber. Will also send off another sizer, the .363 to be opened up to .368 or .369 so I have one for the 9.3 x 74R on the other No.1
