Did J. Stevens tool co of Chicopee Falls Mass. ever make a percussion rifle? I found one at a flea market with J Stevens markings in 32 caliber in very good condition a 1" bbl 1/16th across the flats also marked 32 ideal the stock is in good condition but looks like a baseball bat. any information would be of a great help. Tks TG

To the Best of my Knowledge At the Moment, "32 Ideal" was a Center fire Cartridge.

Someone has made a ml out of .32 rimfire or center fire barrel, pretty easy to do.

Been collecting Stevens since I was 12. 59 years. Still collecting. Have a large reference library. To my knowledge the answer is no. By the time they started muzzleloaders were obsolete. Their first guns were rim fires.
