Lyman 4500 - new user question

Ok, I've finally got good cast boolits and I'm lubing/sizing them. Is it common to have a thin layer of lube on the bottom of the gas check, and some remaining on top of where I put the gascheck before sizing? I'm not using the gascheck seater. I seem to remember something about lube leaking past the die o-ring on these things. Or is this normal?

Selmerfan---Hold firm pressure on the operating handle while you are operating the ratchet lube feed. If you don't you'll get a big amount of grease on the bullet base. Not handle bending ---but firm pressure.
