I bought this gun barrel with twist 1:16, long 10.4 inches and 8 grooves.
I round balls from .445, i tried loads of 18 to 21 grains.
I also tried the balls for my 45 ACP from .452 200SWC, i used as the MAXI and also went straight!
I would like to know how to use the filler semolina .... in contact with the powder or separate with a wad? In what doses? I read that usually is used equal volume of the powder charge and if necessary to raise or lower the point of impact is lowered or increase the semolina.
To you the advice .... thanks

1st. If the ball comes out and hits the target its doing its job

2. Powder . patch. Ball. That's all in that order every time.

3. 25 to 35 grains of FFF black powder. Per the book

I use a 100% wool wad that has been treated with a lube bore butter. Crisco etc..

Shoot bench supported until you find your load that gives you the best results and stick with it.

Also a 45acp bollut will shoot out of it But it's not desigend for it. A minie ball has a hollow base to capture the gas and expand the base to grip the rifling. With out that your just shooting a straight wall

Have fun shooting

Filler is used in black powder cartridge arms. Not necessary to my understanding in muzzle loading. Just reduce the powder charge for a lighter load.

saltner it is good to see you are still shooting. why not try a mag spark nipple on that very high end handgun for above average ignition and just shoot a round ball patched as it was ment to. the magspark nipple is available through warren outdoors on the internet. shot gun primers are most likely available in your country. your handgun has a american cut twist for the nipples. 1/4 - 28. you wont regret it.

Agree with above. Filler is not needed in this gun. ( generally for cartridge or revolver loading, if needed at all) consistency is the key in ball, powder, pressure, hold etc

Some of these guns shoot very well with very light loads, as low as 10-12 grains.
The use of fillers is documented. In the Code Duallo [not sure of the sp] per the code those guns should be smooth bore.

I had one like this15-20 grs. of 3ffg, lubed patch and ball should shoot great! No wad underneath needed!

Thanks for advice, i never fired bullets round before, i have a Pedersoli Gibbs 45 and a Brutus inline 50 and i always used conical bullets from 535 grains upwards or possibly the sabot to 50.
Pistol muzzle-loading is a new world and this is very intriguing.:bigsmyl2:
Now I just have to buy a mold for bullets round by .445
