I was having some mild pain in my shoulder and it kept getting worse. It finally dawned on me that it could be my posture when I'm sitting at the computer. I started sitting straight on to the 'puter, with my feet together, knees together, feet flat on the floor.
The pain is quickly going away.
If you're having a problem, try my method.

Something similar here. I had a case of "tennis elbow" on the right side out of nowhere. Finally traced it to sitting in front of the computer with my arm resting on the arm rest and using the mouse. Took the arm rest off my chair and the elbow quit hurting within a couple days.

With my arthritis using a mouse kills my shoulder. I have been using a track ball for years due to this.

Even then I have to move the arm around with the ball sometimes on desktop, some on lap some on the chair arm etc.
