Trivia question. When was the rail gun invented? Another - what is the pressure wave velocity from a nitro explosion? Mil. grade explosives? No wonder our powders are buffered.

Pretty good graphics. But really we have a lot better stuff than that. Have had for decades. They even have guidance heads for the 2.75" rockets now. For the helicopters.
Mine warfare. Both sea and land. Are some of the most closely guarded secrets in the military.
Remember back in 1972 when we mined Haiphong Harbor. Torpedo mines laid on the bottom that would only go after certain ship types that were programed into the mines. This was five years before IBM introduced the personal computer. We went in and removed them later. As part of the negotiated deal. Com Block didn't have any luck with attempts. Especially since one of the mine targets was mine sweepers. Then the US fleet right off the coast kept up harassment.
They laid those mines by para dropping the torpedoes from B-52's flying low level. Right through the harbor. Only been 44 years ago.

My thought was 105mm recoilless rifle rounds. Tube on that thing was for directing the unguided rocket.
