This looks like a GC version of the light GB that Warf73 is honchoing (is "honchoing" a word?[smilie=1:). Nose profile the same? What alloy does Lee spec their moulds for? Just curious how much it would weigh depending on what it is cast from. Looks like it will use the same top punch as the other GB.
I just might have to get in on this to compliment the other one.
Cheers

This is indeed 45 2.1's GC version of the mould Warf73 is running !
I think LEE uses #2 but I will double check and get back to you.

[QUOTE=Alchemist;325813](is "honchoing" a word?[smilie=1:).
It is indeed a word, often found on Chinese menus, as in "Honchoing Pork."
I think the word you seek is 'Honchist.'

I hope not! I think myself and other Marlin owners are hoping for .359 to .360.

I am hesitant because it is advertised as a .358". I like the 130gr GC design, it would be a great little Marlin 1894C boolit but not at .358".

The boolit Warf73 is Honcho for is spec'ed at .358". This is supposed to be a GC design of that boolit.

The nose in front of the crimp groove is spec'd at 0.358" so it will fit, the body of the boolit is spec'd 0.360". Lee has been putting out about 0.001" oversize on like diameter molds for me.

OK, so it should do fine in the Marlin rifles then. :drinks:

I cannot get a confirmed answer about the alloy LEE uses. Sometimes the answer is WW ( of unknown chemistry) , other times it is #2 !!! We are at their mercy !!! :( :(

Jerry,
Thanks for checking. I'm still squirming about getting in on this one...ya know, like a nightcrawler squirms when it's getting the hook!
Not a Marlin owner (yet, anyway) and would be using this boolit in S&W wheelguns. Shouldn't be too much trouble to size down to .358.

If you're that close, go ahead and order it. I think on every group buy yet there have been several people who decided they really needed one after the buy closed so there's always a market to unload it. Been there myself a couple of times.

Just about at that point...but I've noticed some negative remarks about Lee Q.C. (or lack thereof). What have the recent results been? Most of the comments were from a couple years ago. Better now?
TIA

Yes, I have received several moulds since the QC problems a couple of years ago and have no complaint other than the alignment pins seem to fall out on a regularly.

Get in on this, guys. If you don't see the need for it now, you will be sorry later. If you buy one or two now, you can always sell them later, the price of molds is NOT getting cheaper.
Just a note to the guys who have already expressed interest and/or paid :
This Group Buy will go no matter how many (or how few) join in ! It will close on time as well so we can use the mould before Christmas ! :)

I am still showed as a no pay in the Group Buy section. Could that be updated so I feel a little better about it?
Hicard:
All is well ! Note that you are #1 on the list in post #27.
I failed to update the Group Buy Order System though.

Only about five more months wait !

Jerry,
Did you order any extra moulds ? If so, I'd love to have one. I don't know how I missed seeing this one. :-?
WKAYE:
I ordered an extra knowing you would want one ! :) :)
Actually I got the extra just in case the Postal Service lost one, but it is yours if they do not !
I put your name on "The List" !
When buyers confirm receipt I will contact you. Unfortunately that will be a few months from now.

Jerry,
Thanks a lot ! Sometimes Lady Luck smiles on us poor fools. Don't mind the wait , as that's the norm for these GB's.

Just bringing this back to the top. It will be a couple more months before we see them though ! :(
