Looking to use lightened up 38 super loads for bullseye use. Magma has a 140 grain SWC flat base mold that may work well. I'll probably only push them in the low 700 FPS.

Lyman 358480, claims to be set for 133 grains but mine usually go a bit heavier, usually sized .358 for Super and 9mm. I seat these so the case mouth ends in the middle of the forward band. Complete reliability, very good accuracy in a stock lightweight Commander. This boolit also serves me well in 9mm and is a favorite for walks in the woods. I have this pattern in a 2-cavity mold, also am holding a 1-cavity mold that will end up being hollow-pointed. Did I mention I really like this pattern???

I have always had good results using Magma boolits when I need larger volumes than I want to cast. I buy them un sized and use Hi Tek coating which works really good.

I have an old Lyman 358495 mold that I cast bullets with and then I swage them into different nose shapes. Those shoot extremely well. I've also shot the RCBS 150 grain SWC with very good results too. I have an after market barrel without the rim notch on the hood and I'm using Starline rimless 38 Super brass. Very good working setup and very accurate. My RCBS 124 TC nose 9mm bullet is just so so.

The best I've used in mine is the Lee 125RF. Cuts a pretty clean hole for bullseye use. I size to 357 from my mystery range scrap. I'm shooting it a good bit faster than your targeted speed though, almost 1200fps.

Are you thinking of Magnus? Magma makes molds and molding equipment.

No, Magma Engineering Company. I buy un lubed boolits from http://www.glcbullets.com so I can coat and size when I don't have time to cast my own.

Next to the jacketed Hornady 124 FP, the best boolit I have fired from my Supers has been the SAECO 383...140 grains and doesn't look like it could possibly feed but it does in all my Supers and 9mms....

My choice is the Lee 356120 TC. I did use an RCBS SWC of about 148 gr a few years ago that work fine then; it was not the #383 mentioned above. I also like the Lyman 356402.

Cherokee, what do you like better about the Lee 120 TC over the SWC. My one fear of going with a lighter bullet is I feel like they're gonna want more FPS than I want to give it to keep the recoil down.

Lee 358-150 RN. Six-banger. Feeds like butter and shoots tiny groups. Only downside is the ragged holes and poor performance on bowling pins or critters.
