Well, I finally decided to spend some money on some molds,(used) and the first one I got is a Lee 90355. Any opinions on this mold? It casts 255 gr. WFN bullets with 2 lube grooves and a crimp groove, using lead reclaimed from an indoor range.

Warning: I started to melt the lead on the kitchen stove, and my wife's gonna absolutley have a **** fit tomorrow! I forgot how much oil they use on the backstops at the range, so now the house stinks like burnt oil!

Plan B: I dragged out the old turkey fryer and am melting lead in a cast iron pan I never use.(OUTSIDE!) Works great! Nice work for a cool evening. More interesting than roasting marshmallows.
Now, I just wonder how much the salvage yard will give me for all these jackets with the slag in it.

Spurrit,

The local scrap bookie here pays $1/lb for the jackets. He calls it "dirty brass". I melt a lot of indoor range scrap and wind up with about 25%, per bucket, by weight, of jackets.

That is one of my favorite boolits. I use it a lot in my Ruger BH in front of 10 gr. of Unique. It groups as well as I can hold.

Are sure it's not 90356?

Singleshot, the local scrap maetal dealers will not touch the jackets, Say that the lead contamination is death to the brass and copper recyclers. Had to take about 100 lbs to the local household hazardous waste disposal site recently.
