I have recently acquired a .458 socom RRA. First let me say it's almost as fun to shoot as my 50BMG. I have a 45 cal suppressor and adapter to 5/8-32 and plan on making a subsonic thumper. I just ordered the NOE 480 hp based on a few discussions I came up with the search function. Anyone run this one subsonic? I will be HT coating it. I wanted the plain base. Also what are you guys using for expanding that neck?

Advice appreciated as this is new territory for me with the .458. I have IMR 4198, Lovex DO63-02, 4227, trailboss, H335, unique, amongst many others. Based on my research it seems the 300 BO and this one like the same powders thus the ones mentioned.

Thanks,

Ken

One of my friends is shooting a 405 gr from Magma molds with Hi-Tek Bronze 500 subsonic using Reloder 7 powder. I think he is using a Lee neck expander for now.

RL7 is also what I recommend.

I got mold yesterday. If i like it I may get a set for the bullet master. Hand casting again. wow. Eric makes a sweet HP conversion to run on bullet masters. I have found an INCREDIBLE load super with DO63-02. It sends the 325 ftx into less than MOA at 1864 fps ave and a 19fps ES. Now to the cast subs. Sure it will take a bit longer. Thanks for the info guys. Keep it coming.
