Deer season started out pretty slow around here this year. Not near the deer movement as I've seen in the past. I've only seen 1 set of horns all firearms season and it was just a lil' fella with some small spikes. So since I wasn't seeing any horns to Oooo and Ahhh over I decided to fill the freezer!
The first doe I took popped out of the swamp I overlook at about 30 yards broadside. I put the front sight of my Rossi 92 on the top of her front shoulder and touched it off! Bang flop right there and she was down for the count

I stayed in the shed for a while just to see what else may come along and out popped another doe larger than the one I already had down but she wasn't sticking around long enough for a shot so I took care of the deer I already had down.

A few days later the big doe I had seen before made a fatal mistake of assuming I wasn't in my shed, boy she was wrong! She came out of the swamp some 80 yards west of me with a few other does but there was no mistaking her as she was quite a good bit larger than the others. She walked straight towards my location to about 40 yards when she just started to quarter a little to the south. I put the sight just ahead of her left shoulder as with the angle she was on that's where my instinct said to put it. I squeezed the trigger and I had another bang/flop on my hands! This little "pip squeak" .357 sure is getting good at laying them out! Both were shot with a Lee 358-158 rnfp cast of acww, pc'ed and unsized over 17.6 grains of Lil' Gun with a velocity of 1925 fps over my chrono.

Now that the freezer is full I hope to see some horns during muzzleloader season!

Great job! Sounds like a great load for anything in range.

And the details on the load and boolit are important part of the story too!
