I just bought a second 105SWCLee mold to be able to cast with two 6 cavity molds to speed up production. Cast about 1300 bullets and went to load them after tumble lubing. Lo and behold two different bullets(the old and the new)! New mold has shorter overall length, longer driving bands and a tiny cone nose. Didn't see all this until I cast with it. Called Lee and spoke to tech rep and was told yes, the new molds don't match the old ones exactly. New production technique is the cause of this. Asked him what I should do with a mold that won't work for me. His answer was to live with it, that's the way it is. Some customer service! There is enough difference that when seating a bullet in the press a .030 difference results in the seating depth. The only way to use it is to keep two separate piles of bullets when casting.

No two Lee molds are the same, makes them more valuable.

My old two hole mold is identical to my old six cavity. Only this new one is different.

We--me, you, others--continue to use Lee products despite the quirky nature of the people running the place. I would bet that if the op wrote the company president and asked in a nice way to resolve his issue, the company would replace the mold in question.
Also, the vendor may replace it. I understand why the op is irritated.

Maybe you could post a picture of both bullets so we can see the difference. Somebody might swap you so you can have two of the same style.

If they've changed over the tooling and design, you're SOL as they can no longer make the old style bullet design.

If my six cavity 105 is an old style I'd be willing to trade for the new style. I'll try and remember to measure some boolits tonight.

OAL length of my mold is 0.4845", driving band length is 0.281" Curious if that corresponds to a new or old mold.
