I am thinking about getting a 40 S&W pistol and was wondering what boolit folks are using and why?

I'm running a group buy on a 150gr TC single lube groove design for a lee 6 cav here:

http://castboolits.gunloads.com/showthread.php?t=28649

I'm thinking it'll feed better than the 145 gr lee but not be so heavy in the 40 as the 175gr TC.

kinda the best of both words :)

just a suggestion!

I am currently using a lee 2 cavity tumble lube 175 grain swc with excellent success in a Glock 23 and Sig 226. I decided to try the 175 grain six cavity standard lube groove bullet, but Grafs and Midway are both out of stock right now. I have read really good things about it here.

I've been using the Lee .401 175gr tumble lube SWC 6 cavity mold and am very happy with those bullets through my Glock 23 with Lone Wolf barrel.

Some run into feeding problems with the SWC design and some don't. I didn't in three guns i tried it in(very little). I never heard a complaint about the TC design and lots of folks reccomend the TC bullet over the SWC for the 40 Auto pistols. I ran the 175 SWC in Glock,XD,Witness. I would take my chances with the TC over the SWC.

My thoughts too RandyRat, the TC design seems to work well in autoloaders in 45 and 9mm for me. I have joined in on the 40 TC group buy that Trickyasafox suggested. Thanks to all who responded.

I use the RCBS 180swc with great accuracy out of a CZ75BSA. 5.8 gr. of Herco is great, giving approx. 950fps.

I'm useing Lyman's 401638 mold. It casts about 170 grains and I have no problems or complaints with the bullet. I'm loading with WW 231. Shoots very well and feeds 100%.

I had good luck with the Lee TL401-175-SWC out of a 6 cavity in my XD40SC. 4.4 grains Power Pistol at 7 yards from a bench.

The 175TC from Lee works great in my S&W M&P Compact.

Mtgrs737 ... I'm shooting 4.8 gr WW 231 with a CCI small pistol primer. I'm shooting with a Beretta 96. Haven't had a problem with the bullet or the load.
