Rant Time:

If youre gonna have a model hold a gun like they're shooting, make sure theyre holding it correctly. If he pulled the trigger on a live round, it would be a bloody mess.

The guy who is holding the 45 with his left thumb wrapped around the top of his right hand......the slide is gonna take it off and make a bloody mess.

In the pics the thumb looks low enough to go under the slide. One of my coworkers shot his 1911 that way all the time. Until the one day he had his thumb higher than normal. Eleven stitches later he no longer uses this grip.

I wonder which hurts worse? A slide collision with the top of your thumb using a cross hand grip, or the flesh cutting blast on your thumb from a left hand grip too far forward (and alongside the cylinder/forcing cone gap) on a compact revolver. I've felt the result of the first with a .22 RF auto and seen the result of the second maneuver. Ouch in both cases. RD

It's not on the top or bottom, it's the one just under forum () general() our town banner. That add changes every time you navigate this site.

He does indeed have his thumb low enough in that picture, but if he lets if get any higher, he will get cut badly. Been here, done that ,,--once, all it takes to remember each time. A glock will do the same thing. My left thumb is alongside the slide,,--NOW!
