Colonel Cooper classified an adventure as a "poorly planned outing"

How to drive from Paris to New York ... by crossing the Bearing Sea, not the Atlantic.

from the looks of the engineering and mounting system I'd say it ended up just fine.
I just hope they weren't depending on the tires to propel the thing.

I believe I would have placed the pontoons just a further under the Jeep myself.

No problem with that setup, I have seen 4 55 gallon drums used for the same thing.

Special swimming tires.

The last release of Expedition News was to say they had flown from Uelen (Russia) to Lavrentia (Russia) on April 26, 2010.
They had been storm bound in Uelen since about March 30th.

It seems that the expedition never did reach the Bearing Strait and try to cross it ... so the pontoons, the outboard engines, and the special 'swimming tires' never got their final test.
