Would this apply to my Lyman 4 cavity handles?
Hipshot: Lay the head end of the pivot pin (which i really a big rivet) on an anvil, and whack the other end (look for a circular "parting line" where it goes into the rounded "washer" on the back side) a couple of times with a medium ball-peen hammer. If it gets too tight, lay it, head down, on a stack of large washers, or across the open jaws of a vise, and whack the riveted end back out a bit with a matching punch. May take a coupla tries, but should do the job. 1 is the Head End? Thank you for your help. http://i338.photobucket.com/albums/n420/joe1944usa/2015%20Reloading/1Lyman_zpsvmxuyubo.jpg http://i338.photobucket.com/albums/n420/joe1944usa/2015%20Reloading/2Lyman_zpsw99nmb1l.jpg

Not sure it really matters which end of the rivet you smack, but that is the procedure I use. Start light and build up so you don't have to "un-do" an over tight set of handles. Keep some lube on the pivot point and you probably won't ever have to do it again.

Tap on #2 to tighten the rivet and that will take care of the slop.

Hope this helps.

Thank you for the help. Taped on the rivet head with the other end supported by a 1/2 inch socket to tighten the hinge. Then turned it over and peened the rivet pin with a old steel nipple wrench. Now to cast some bullets to see if repair holds. If it doesnt, i will post later. (Good advice to remove the mold) http://i338.photobucket.com/albums/n420/joe1944usa/2015%20Reloading/LymanRepair_zpsymayeyf0.jpg
