I was deer hunting archery this morning, in my blind before daylight, nothing going on till 10 am, had 16 young turkeys come in, I managed to get a clean 18yd shot with my crossbow, short recovery on a #13 hen! We can kill one tom, 3 hens in the fall here in KY, helps keep the population in check. I had my second rotator cuff surgery this spring, still cannot pull a bow back, got a permit enabling me to use a crossbow during the whole archery season. This is my 18th turkey with archery gear, all the others are with trad gear, longbows or recurves, this was so easy felt like cheating. I have the meat all cut up into small fingers, marinating in Italian dressing and soy sauce, battered up tomorrow and deep fried in bear grease, melt in your mouth good!
