I'm happy to report that my 1952 760 gamemaster (30-06) chambers 311 bullets.

So, I have about 200 BLL lubed/GCd bullets that went through the 309 sizer. And about 150 virgin 311 bullets.

Should I start with the 309 bullets or the 311?

I shoot 310 in most err all of my 30 cal rifles.
many would do just fine with 309 and some would do better with 311 [I'm sure] but 310 works in all of them.

I'd make up 20 of each and try them side by side, your gun will let you know what it prefers.

.311" works in all my .30 calibers (so far). I plan to buy a smaller sizing die when I need it, but so far I haven't seen the need.

Plenty of people size 308, 309, 310, they can't all be wrong.

I'd do as rfr suggests and run a comparison. I would however shoot one size, check for leading, then shoot the other size.

The only problem I'm going to have is gas checking the bullets if I stay 311.

So, Lee doesn't make a 310 sizer....

Thanks Lee Precision

True, but their dies are economical and very easy to modify. The finish of a modified die will probably be better than what you get from Lee anyway.

But, Lee does make a .311 sizer

+1 .311 works in all my 30's, except for the 303 brit and 54r russie.the only 1 that's ever given me an issue is the 300 blkout , but that was from converted milsurp brass.

I'd go ahead and develop the load with the .311s and then just use that load to shoot the .309s for practice and fun.

All my 30cals. seem to prefer larger boolits to smaller ones. So, like the USPS flat rate boxes, If it fits it ships in my guns. The exception to this in my rifles would be my M1 30 carbine and my Handi in 300 blackout, they seem to prefer the .309s Gp

LAKEMASTER, You also seem to be interested in powder coating according to some of your other threads. The PC will build up on the boolit and add .002"-.004". You could use the ones that are sized .309" for PC and then size them back down to .311". Then compare the PC'd to lubed and come to your own conclusions about which works better for you.

I go one step further.... I run my .30 cal trough a .312 sizer to apply gas checks and lube.
Only one bullet design sizes (Saeco#316, 160-ish grain), and all shoot as well as .310 on multiple rifles.

+ 1 on .311.

I have never found a .30 cal (anything) that did not shoot .311 perfectly.
